RONNIE CORBETT 

(1930-   )

Ronnie Corbett was born on 4th December, 1930, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Besides his long-term screen partnership with Ronnie Barker, Corbett is well-known for playing Timothy Lumsden in the BBC sitcom Sorry! alongside William Moore (the husband of Are You Being Served? star Mollie Sugden) and Barbara Lott.

His first major role was as a student in the film You're Only Young Twice with Duncan Macrae, Charles Hawtrey and Joseph Tomelty. He also appeared as Polo in the 1966 spy spoof, Casino Royale, alongside Peter Sellers, David Niven and Orson Welles.

Besides his extremely successful career in the entertainment field, Ronnie is a very keen golfer and he often plays golf with comedians Bruce Forsyth and Jimmy Tarbuck. He made a guest appearance in It's Tommy Cooper in 1970. Barker also appeared in Cooper's comedy show in the same year.

Over the years, Corbett has made many guest appearances. He has appeared in modern comedy programmes such as Little Britain, Harry Hill's TV Burp and Love Soup.

At Christmas 2010, as a celebration of his 80th birthday, he had a show of his own, The One Ronnie, in which he performed sketches with modern comedians and comedy actors. Among the guest actors were Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Rob Brydon, Harry Enfield, John Culshaw, Miranda Hart, James Corden, Catherine Tate, Robert Lindsay and Richard Wilson.

In 1965, Ronnie married Anne Hart, a dancer and actress.
